After being introduced to the field of biomedical research, Caron served in a variety of capacities at research, data management, and statistical centers in NY and NC. After working as a medical editor in the private sector, she moved to the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (UNC) where she was affiliated with the UNC Institutional Review Board, Center for Pain Research and Innovation, and Office of Clinical Trials. She retired as the Coordinator of the UNC Scientific Review Committee in 2020. For more than 35 years, Ms. Modeas has provided content and editorial review for clinical researchers and others seeking to publish their work. She co-authored 12 articles related to respiratory cancers and has been acknowledged for editorial expertise in more than 50 peer-reviewed publications. In her spare time, she enjoys living at the NC coast, gardening, reading, and travel. |
